You are a shadow
The way you sneak by without a single sound
How no one notices you
How you don’t even care

I am the sun
Always shining bright
Screaming for attention
Always perfect, or at least in the eyes of others

You are a free man
With no worries, no fears
The thoughts of others don’t scare you
You’re admired, but you just don’t see it

I am a prisoner
Trapped in my own mind
I must be this, that, and anything but myself
The thoughts of others are my worst fear

We are a pair
You show me I don’t have to be perfect
And I show you that to me,
You already are
