“Fear the day when Manself will not suffer and die for a concept, for this one quality is the foundation of Manself, distinctive in the universe.”
-Steinbeck

Speak Now
They cannot hear you whisper
Your muffled cries echo
Like pennies in the tin can
Saving for something, someday

Breathe Now
Your rapid respiration
Yields the acrid taste of lies
The absurdities of the world
Choke your lungs with smog

See Now
The streets of gilded wonder
Their pits rotten to the core
From narcissistic memories
The glitter hides it all

Fade Now
Like graffiti at the bus stop
An outcast from society
Wavering on the edge of existence

Stand Now
Among the broken columns
That once held up the shrouds of Industry
The rubble reflects the truth

Start Now
An infant tribe of wishes
The dreams of all the misfits
Run rapid through the night
The condensation of the misery
Forms clouds high above the past

Society is crazy, and I'm proud to be an outcast. I think we all feel different and helpless at times. We need to work together to create a place of acceptance for all.
