Fade Away
He’s sick.
He’s dying.
Save him.
They’re trying.
I sit here,
All day.
Waiting for them to say:
“He’s okay.”
He wants to keep fighting.
Until his final breath.
But they want him to be home,
When life turns to death.
He’s lying in a room.
Everyone is crying.
He’s trying to be positive,
But he knows he is dying—
We all know.
It’s over.
It’s done.
No miracle
Will come.
He closes his eyes,
He has to give up.
And night turns to day,
As he slowly fades away.
