Nothing More, Nothing Less
Throughout my life
I’ve never been the best
Or the worst for that matter
I was just in the middle
Mediocrity is my middle name
Maybe my first and last too
I’m taller than the shortest girls
But shorter than the tallest
I’m fine in academics
Passing all my classes
I’m not failing at least,
But neither am I at the top
There are girls worse than me in gym
But I’m not good enough
To make it on the team
Athletically I’m just okay too
It gets quite tiring, though
Of being ‘monkey in the middle’
I’ve always been just average
Nothing more, nothing less
