Why He hasn't forsaken us yet is a mystery
Each day we give him nothing but woe and misery
We teach our children to fight and kill
Acting as though it gives an intoxicating thrill
Their innocent eyes transformed into that of a monstrous beast
Who upon their fellow men's flesh they love to feast
We think there's nothing that can be done
However we don't realize the power of two or one
We can change the world, it's true
And the change starts with me and you
Past, present, today's tomorrow
Let's hope the future isn't filled with the pasts sorrow

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece for an assignment at school. I hope people will realize that humans killing humans and humans corrupting humans must stop. Children should not be taught that violence is the answer. Yet, they see it every day on TV and video games and sometimes right outside their front door.
