I've had crumpets with corpses
Floated down to Hell
Sat in ice cold chairs with the Devil
We both drank
Scorching hot tea
Sharing jokes
We could be good friends
Until I am swept to a field
Tall grass touches my face
Dark storm clouds swirl above my head
Small candies take the place of rain
So tempting
But I won't take one
It's like Adam and Eve
I am both
My conscious the snake
Slithering those vulgar thoughts into vulnerable, unguarded parts of my head
I should leave
But my feet are glued to the ground
There is no leaving
If I turn back
There is no way to get better
I will never reach
Zero

I had been reading a lot of books on eating disorders, and it really hit home with me.

I really like the imagery of the field and the storm of candies. Something about the simplicity just makes it all work. :)
