Waiting
My momma always told me to wait for love and it will find you,
But time is a trixster that never comes on cue.
So when I let you have my heart how was I suppose to know
Time would help you break it apart.
At first I didn’t believe you could be so cruel
But then again you never followed by the rules.
Little by little my heart shattered
And I felt like a doll all old and tattered.
The days without you grew longer and colder
And it felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders.
The nights were short with nightmares around
And sometimes I felt stuck to the ground.
When I finally realized you weren’t coming back
What was left of my heart started to crack.
I’m all alone now as I sit here and cry,
I wasn’t good enough for you
So here is goodbye.
