Awkwardness
I see her,
my so called, “friend”.
It seemed like eternity
since the last time
I saw her.
A few moments ago,
we were best friends.
Now, it’s different.
How to approach her,
is a mystery itself.
We say “hi”,
and nothing else.
We sit there,
not knowing what to say.
Like birds on a tree,
perching there quietly.
The unwanted silence between us is painful.
She seems to endure
the same feelings I am facing,
I think,
I know her.
We should be good friends.
But that knowledge,
doesn’t seem to exist.
We say “bye”,
and we’re off,
back to being best friends,
knowing that we won’t see each other
for a long time.
I miss her.
