all those memories
I am from a courageous family of wrestlers
I am from a town of mean and inconsiderate people that care about nothing but themselves
I am from knowing everyone and all their shinning faces to all their broken promieses
I am from all those seductive nights we snuck out and all those day we spent
I’m from wrestling all day and night and eating little as possible
I’m from those long summer nights when my family stayed up and watched meteor showers
I’m from college practices when I was only fifteen and I was beating them
I’m from long talks on the phone and listening to you cry
I’m from all those times in my basement that will stay between me and you
And yet
I’m from good ole West Virginia where the summers are perfect and the winters are cold. All those times with friends will live on forever
