Walking head down
Eyes fixed on the ground
Direction bound
Never pausing to look around
To see what may lie beyond your frown
Studying the pavement
Passing by
Never daring to meet an eye
For fear that on their love you may rely
Fool you twice? You’d rather die
And in a blur of muted colors life will fly
Living a superficial lie
Always reminded.
Head up
Walls down
Eyes, heart, soul,
Open
