The Giant
I walk into the ring
With a huge animal in hand
People surround me and stare
Like a rock star at a concert
They marvel at the giant animal
Surprised that it is only controlled by me,
Who’s only a little girl
It’s white, like snow in the winter
Strong like steel
But kind, strangely kind
It doesn’t romp, run, or go on a rampage
Like others of its kind
It stands close to me
It is calm
It trusts me
It lies down and lets me sit by it
So I name it Dice
Because I am simply taking a chance
