Every time I see you I stop and stare

Like a deer in the headlights.

It hardly seemed fair

To me it just wasn't right

That you could so easily steal my heart

Even though I kept it under lock and key

The author's comments:
This piece I wrote about a boy who I am now great friends with, but the first time I saw him, he held the door open for me walking into school, and when we locked eyes, I froze; I couldn't move. He didn't move either, and we just stood there, in the rain, staring into each-others' eyes. Something clicked into place in that moment. I knew he'd be an important person in my life, and he's proven to be an absolutely amazing friend. I love him for being so amazing and for being there for me when I needed someone to hold on to.
