Grape Soda

Sunflower
Sunset
Grape soda?
you bet!

Although it tastes
Bittersweet
I wont regret
and i promise
ill never regret

im pretty sure
my mind is set
and i also promise
ill never let
go

It feels a little bubbly
as i sip it through the straw
it tastes a little bitter
and way too sweet
for my likin at all

But id drink a billion
cans of the stuff
just for the memories
that it leaves behind
that still to this day
linger
through my mind

This poem is actually about my grandpa. We used to sit outside and watch the sun set and talk about random stuff while we drank grape soda (which i hate) and ate chocolatechip cookies. He passed away in 2009 and i miss him so much. So i wrote a poem in honor of him. I love you, Grandpa.
