The Bull
It was a dark but warm summer night
and the horses were still out
we thought that it would be okay to go feed them some carrots
but I guess we were wrong.
so out in the fields we go
searching for the horses
but surrounded by the horses were cows
and apparently bulls too.
we step a little closer, step by step
and what we thought was a cow, was a bull
we stare at it for a couple of seconds,
“Kate, are you sure this isn't the bull?”
“yes Lolo, I'm positive..”
“but Kate..I really think it is!”
“Lolo, I would know..I live here!”
we step a little closer
and in about three seconds the bull was running right at us!
sprinting and tripping in our summer shoes and flip flops
and it was getting darker and darker making it hard to see
finally, we pull up to the gate in relief
laughing with fear, if you know what I mean
barely breathing
and wobbling on our bikes back up the drive way
