Shattering the Past
So much Fire.
Burning, scorching,
destroying.
Fresh spring flowers
smolder to ash under
the sinister, orange glow.
The sweltering heat
blazes across horror-struck eyes
and a gaping mouth
as the wave of flames
hurdles over the tree line and
crashes into
home.
Thick smoke plumes into the red sky,
suffocating all remnants of life.
The house remains motionless.
It stands like a brave soldier
welcoming death.
Drowning in flames.
