The sunshine shimmers on the cool, vibrant water
creating a fiery glare among the scattered waves.
The aroma of salted skin and sun screened shoulders,
consumes the air.
Frolicking on the beach,
sand crowds our toes,
as our thoughts escape us.
Nothing is as important as the sand castles,
shells and skiing we would be doing.
Totally devoted.
When dawn meets dusk it is time to pack up,
we are leaving behind the gleaming water,
and the chorus of seagulls stalking the distant shores.
I will forever long for summer.
