Favorite Quote:
Don't let the pain of your past and the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present.

If this was not meant to be,
then it never would have started.
When I look at you, I'm home;
home is where the heart is.
You gave my eyes some life,
and you brought color to my face.
Your presence controlled my heart beat,
which could never keep a steady pace.
Without love, there is not life,
and I am without you.
So living life half alive is what I have learned to do.
I hide behind your lies,
and all my fake emotion.
When inside of me it is all just conflict and commotion.
I question why you left without so much as goodbye.
You left me here in paragraphs,
and I will always wonder why.
You stole from me my heart;
this is no victimless crime.
I am trying to move forward one step at a time.
But it was you who walked away with one foot in front of the other;
but resilient being me, I will get through this one way or another.
Now life with you seems so much sweeter on the other side;
but I will wear this unfamiliar smile, and behind it I will hide.
However, I want to go home, because home is where the heart is.
If this was not meant to be, then it never would have started.

Nothing specifically inspired this piece. I am just a hopeless romantic, and I believe what is meant to be will always find its way :)
