Waft past
196 flags
Waving at half mast.
'Light between the candles
And the cracked photo
Of a smiling child.
Take the hands of
Mourning family
And soar together
Past the scarlet sun
Into the clear white sky.

The author's comments:
This was written in response to the earthquake in Japan. All hopes and prayers go to the people striving to rebuild their lives!
