To my days of being a caterpillar
To my days of hiding in the safe haven of my hoodies
To my days of trying to blend into the background
To my past self who was nervous around others
Who worried about what others thought
Who was awkward around strangers
Who stuttered and felt unsafe in new places
Goodbye
So long, adios, to that girl
Who always worried and was anxious
Goodbye to being a caterpillar
For now I have emerged from that cocoon
And have been born anew as
A butterfly
