"There are no bad students, only bad teachers."

"The light at the end of the tunnel is the headlamp of a train."

Close your eyes
and release my hand
Though they say a
house divided cannot stand.

And yet my heart
has split in two
between glimmering gold stars
and red, white, blue.

Here I’m a stranger
with nothing and no one
I should have sunk with my people
but somehow dawn has begun.

I don’t know how I got here
or why
Yet I see the sun rising
and it’s never been this bright.

Note: I am not a Chinese immigrant, however both my parents are. I just thought it would be interesting to write about an experience similar to the one they went through. (=
