It’s that same ‘I love you’ that you have seared into my brain that I’ll never get over.
You flaunt me around; I’m perfect in your eyes
You want me saved, “God can make everything better,” you say
“You’re right,” you say “but you should still do it my way.”
You flaunt me around; I’m perfect in your eyes
If I was so perfect, you wouldn’t be trying so hard to change me.

Constantly trying to paint this false smile on my face
I’m such a good actress, you’ll never catch on
Pretending isn’t worth it anymore however; I can’t last much longer,
And you haven’t a clue.
I can’t continue playing this game if there’s no prize to be won
There’s no cheese at the end of this tunnel.
That same ‘I love you’ makes me want to love you too
I have you memorized
You’re perfect...
Far better than me.
I could never compare.

You flaunt me around; I’m perfect in your eyes.
Don’t change me, baby
I’m losing my will to continue, simply because I’ll never be as perfect as you
I can pretend
I will pretend
You’d better be worth it.
I have a God; don’t think of me as a creature.
I’m as human as you
I hate you
You love me…
I love you too.
I’ll always play perfect for you.
