her face was bright
her face was light
her face was white
my face was brown
i looked at her
she then looked down
and made nothing but one sound
she looked at me and then turned back
for her face was white and mine was black
she stuttered when she tried to talk
and then this time i turned away
with no expressions or words to say
i hadn't thought why this girl had avoided me
yet when she walked over she waited there patiently
i shook her hand
and she shook mine
it was what she said that changed my mind
of what i thought of her
and the rest of mankind
