Love never dies;
I believe no one is ever lost or forgotten,
Or that everyone and everything are always what they seem.
It is as if I'm waiting for the clouds to pass me by,
And whisper my future; why there is a reason for everything,
But even the whispers know silence.
I'm laying in my bed, caught between the fairy tales and reality,
Questioning my every decision, why I am who I am and who I want to be;
Tired of fighting to discover a mystery,
In this body filled with unexplainable emotions.
I remember being younger and playing with Pokemon cards,
Swinging at the park, drawing flowers on the sidewalk with chalk;
And I'm struck with the movement of time.
At 5 I was obsessed with Barney,
10 and in love with pink;
Now I'm 18 and having trouble remembering why it was so easy to answer,
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
I'm scared to think that I no longer want to be that person who talks to aliens in a white space suit,
Or that person who waves pom poms and shouts cheers;
But something great and exciting,
Something that can save the world,
Or give people something to hope for.
Something that not only means reaching for the stars and chasing after my dreams,
But something that can constantly remind me the reasons I want no one to go through life alone.
One day,
I hope to be that someone in a big red cape,
I want to be a superhero, YOUR superhero.
