Alone

I met you alone.
I looked at you and fell in love alone.
I lived my life to the fullest alone.
I was happy and okay alone.
I was strong, loving, independent..alone.
The day I met you, you told me I would never be alone again.
When you hugged me, I wasn't alone.
When you kissed me, I wasn't alone.
When I fell, you were there with me so I wouldn't be alone.
You kept your promise, for awhile anyway. I wasn't alone again.
...
Until you said goodbye.
Then once again I was all alone.
