that’s what her name is,
not to her face, of course, but
she knows
it’s not precisely that she swallows anything, really
the opposite
they swallow her
engulf
starve
isolate
she doesn’t see it that way
social interactions
both the good and bad
obliterated
it’s safer this way
hidden from the pointed looks
whispered rumors
the shouts at home
she’d be
naked
without them
ignorance is
a sweet and sunlit land
