Hard, hard
To be an alien
Green tentacles
Bust out of the
New suit
He bought for
The interview next Wednesday

When he forgot his lunch
For the art class
He started taking in the afternoons
Nobody shared
And when it came time
To paint self portraits
Even he thought the third eye
Looked a little strange

On nights they call cold
He sits by the edge
Of the water
And peers up
At one star
Lost in the sea of many

Home, he thinks
Is not too far away
