Do you remember
When we went to Carlos Bakery
You had bought one of everything
Do you remember
When we were in the hotel
Julia saw a seal shaped shadow and named him sammy
Do you remember
Myrtle Beach
How beautiful and lovely it was
The sun setting on the sea
With hues of orange and red
Do you remember
The Chinese guy in the teashop
Hitting on Grandma
We were laughing hysterically
Do you remember
Jumping from trolley to trolley
in San Francisco
or how Aunt Sherri hid her eyes on the bridge
Do you remember
All the birthdays you planned
You made me a cake
Like a volcano
with frosting lava
pouring out
Do you remember
The drive to Branson and back
Tommy would scream “fire in the hole”
And you would announce it over the walkie-talkies
Do you remember
The houseboat trip
When Lisa told Grandpa she does what she wants
or the Chuck Norris jokes
Between Julia and Cliff
Do you remember
The trip to D.C.
Figuring out the train system
Taking turns in the wheelchair
meant for you
Do you remember
The early Christmas we had
a mere week before you died
Do you remember
laying in the Hospital
still making jokes despite the pain you must have been in
Did you hear
Your sons beautiful speaches at your funeral
how even Dave
Broke out in tears
We will remember
All of this
For you
