- What Matters
Why care what they think?
It puts you down and you cry.
Night after night you start to believe them
Those thoughts become true in you head.
Given up everything you had to offer.
Then he comes along
He ignores the rumors and doesn’t care
You’re happy but those feelings are still there
He tells you you’re not those things
He says you have plenty more to offer
As he explains you start to think again
You start believing him now and not the lies.
They still joke of you around him
He doesn’t understand but you feel terrible.
He asks, you explain
He says he doesn’t care, what’s done is done.
Slowly, you start to fall in love
All those hurtful things said aren’t hurtful anymore
He came and helped and they fell in love
Someone is always out there
Eventually they will come.
