Wake Up Call
As we go on with our lives
We start to see the world in a different way
Flowers seem more alive
We then thrive
To be the best
But what ever happened to just relaxing on the swings?
Is this what life is?
Utter confusion?
Lost?
I didn’t see it coming
It was just a big bang
The phone rang
It was my wake up call
Did you get your wake up call?
Why was I last to find out?
As hearts beat
We take a seat
“Take out your pens!”
Let the test begin…
A, B, C, D, cheat, lie, cry, laugh
Which do you choose?
Why not laugh? Like we used too
At the park
Let your toes sink into the sand
The waves wash away your worries along with the seaweed
Before the seaweed tangles into all our problems
Whisper your dreams to the wind
At least someone would hear
What none dares to speak
Not now not ever
