is the question really necessary?
is the question really necessary
must you know
if time stops
for your misplaced heart,
the tissue torn from the gift
must you know if time
stops
for the woman being murdered
the man who lost his wife
and the child who will forget his mother
the blood running down the
cold street
cold blood
cold time
you know it hurts
you know it does not
matter if you breathe
you talk
you live
you die
time has no use of you
so cry
what does it matter
so curse
who will hear
so die
who will notice
i noticed that
you aren’t here
your stare is gone
your mouth is numb
and i know there is no use
i know that time
will continue its death march
but where are you
behind the blackness of your pupil
behind the coldness of your lips
behind the hardness of your face
fortress without doors
i have no map
and
time
is
no
light
so where shall i look
i know when we tear our bodies away
there will be a little piece
of you stuck on me
but time does not care
and so slowly it
will
peel
off.
