My bed started to shake
Viciously
Tears were streaming down my face
Feeling scared like a cat, wishing I was as tough as a bully
Holding on to my mom's sweaty hands and clothes made of lace
Crawling out of the room
Hiding under the table
Listening to the crashing sound and the many "BOOM"s
Thinking about the end of the world and the shattering of my fable
Regretting the fact that we moved
But..
I feel protected
In the arms of my mother
The one who brought me to this world
The one who cares about me
The one who loves me
I am thankful
and I will be thankful
Forever and always

The earthquake in Japan made me reflect on my own experience of the Chi-Chi Earthquake in Taiwan on 9/21/99 when I was only 5 years old. I hope we can all treasure the things we have and not take them as granted.
