At The Sight Of It

At the sight of it
you think of who I am
But you can’t tell a person’s character
by their side profile

At the sight of it
you let others see me
how you see me

But you can’t
let go of
the very thing that
weighs you down

Because you
know who I am,
you easily
determine other’s fate

You don’t know me
I thought you held on
to the very thing that
chained us together

But at the sight
of it all, it won’t always
be the same.

But who am I
to speak.
I mean hey,
we can’t look at other’s
from their side profile

It could all turn
out to be
what we thought
it was meant to become
