Remembering Spring
Winter
Has held the buds of spring
 In its icy fist
 For long enough.
 The chirping of the robin
 Echoes in my memory.
 Barely there
It has survived the harsh months
 Of frigid gales
 And icy walkways.
 Hopefully
 Spring will break free
 Soon enough.
 And with it
 Will come new life
 And new hope.
