Extended Metaphor
A snakes fangs pierce its victim
injecting its venom throughout the body of its randomly chosen prey.
A cancer consuming, infecting and taking over
spreading through the body
weaving itself into the web of veins
engulfing the heart.
Quarantine and isolation only make the wound worse
converting it against itself forcing mutiny against its own mind.
Anger encourages and fuels the venom, making it stronger and more potent
the only prescription is occupying it to distract you from the disease that haunts and controls your body.
Its numbers of victims increase steadily
claiming lives that have been ended by their own hands
by a gun
by a noose
off a bridge
The most common disease in the world...
DEPRESSION.
