Daddy?

As he sleeps at night,
he tosses and turns.
Mumbling words,
words that sound like,
daddy.
He wakes crying in the night
screaming for daddy.
but daddy is nowhere to be found.
This happens every night.
He crawls into my bed
places his head on my chest,
He falls asleep listening to the beating of my heart.
He lays there the rest of the night.
He doesn't move from that spot,
yet he still calls out daddy.
He repeats the word over and over in his sleep.
This happens every night.
