Memories
Do you recall,
Those humid nights,
When we would stay awake,
Dreaming,
In the crisp cotton sheets,
Covering your mattress?
The night we ran off,
From our friends,
And hid behind that real-estate building,
You pinned me to the concrete wall,
Then kissed me,
As I gazed into the sparkling sky,
Because it seemed like,
This reality,
Was too much like fantasy?
When I pretended to fall asleep,
As you played video games,
So I could see if you kissed me,
Gently on the forehead,
Then put your head to my chest,
To listen to the unsteady beating of my heart
And my long breaths?
