Small Talk
In winter,
learn to properly make a glance at me
without an obvious impression,
thats leaving me terrified to wonder alone
on the long walk home,
in the ice shattering wind
freezing my bones in place.
I can not move
only watch as
the first word tumbles down from fate
catches on tongue,
watching for my reaction
as he says "hello"
