Assumptions
You think you know who I am
Tired eyed and two faced
That person you can’t stand
With the constant need to be chased
I have absolutely no brain or heart
With no sincere interest in music or art
Each day I sit in front of my reflection
Pondering my next victim of fraud like affection
Like a lizard I blend and shape to my surroundings
No self-dignity and defiantly no boundaries
I’m innocent, naïve and stunningly pretty
I have no ambitions, I’m terrifically happy
I’m outgoing, bold and fluent
I carefully plan out all my responses
I work hard and fail in school
But who needs smarts when looks will get you through?
This is what I am to you
This what an assumption will do
What’s true is in disguise
Hiding what’s pure from your eyes
The real me you may never find
Without a looking eye
Please don’t even try
Just stay blind
