Ink and paper are sometimes passionate lovers, oftentimes brother and sister, and occasionally mortal enemies. ~Terri Guillemets

A tear,
A solitary drop of,
Melancholy feelings.

The tear drops.

Words left unspoken,
Echo through the mind,
Run through it incessantly.

The tear rolls down.

Screaming furiously,
Nothing left in the mind but anger,
And hurt feelings.

The tear stops,
Resting on the lips,
Of a lonely lover.

Quivering, words stop,
Anger dissipates, leaving,
A peaceful quiet.

Wipe away the tear,
Only to let more fall,
Sequence endlessly repeating.

When it’s finally over,
All cried out,
The last tear drops from the eye.

Wipe it away,
Put on that smile,
The world knows so well.

Slowly fall apart.
