My Red Autumn
My love, I don't see what took you so long, but it seems your heart fin'ly found mine, alone by the river in the midst of my red autumn.
Captivated- I have been, but never to this extent, as you took my fragile hand and led me to a gray park bench.
Your eyes a lovely topaz, like the frost, November mornings. Your skin reminded me of the August I'd been mourning,
For summer was unknown before you entered my life.
Unfamiliar waves of feeling rush through my cold, blue veins, and I'm healing just knowing I won't be alone again
By that river of my memories, life before you meaning nothing.
You held me throughout my red autumn and promised spring would soon be coming.
