Melodic Love
A little girl walks up to a doorstep
 she asks if the boy
 With the sandy hair
 wants to play

A middle school girl yearns to hold
 His hand
 But he turns
 The other cheek

 A high school girl desires
 A kiss and for her
 Soft lips to
 Finally meet his
 In a sweet resolution

Every night she dreams of his emerald green eyes
 Melting hers and for once,
Seeing her as she truly is

He sees a twinkle where another
 Sees a flaw
 He sees her beauty
 That resonates from within

 As she wakes, her imperfections
 Begin to surface
All she wants is to crawl
 Back into her dream

In her dream his hands are big and warm
 They melt into her back
 As he greets her

She wonders now if the sandy haired boy
 Wants to play
