Favorite Quote:
Life has the name of life, but in reality it is death.

When I look in the mirror
What do I see?
Mirror mirror,
Who am I truly?
I see a girl,
Sad and lost,
A ghost of who she used to be.
Trying to look into the future,
A dream of tomorrow in her eyes.
Mirror mirror
What is beauty?
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
When I look at this girl
True beauty is what I see.
A soul pure although pierced by sin,
By pain, by sorrow.
Struggling to make life better,
To see a better future for herself.
A beautiful person
Trying to escape the ugliness of the world.
Mirror mirror,
What has the world become?
An image of perfect beauty
Implanted in everyone’s minds.
Everyone struggling to be this perfect person,
A perfection which doesn’t exist.
The most beautiful people
Must look into their soul to find true beauty.
Beauty is not physical,
It’s within one’s soul.
Mirror mirror,
What do I see?
I see a more beautiful future,
A more beautiful me.

I wrote this poem for my creative writing class. I was sitting at my friend's house listening to him talk about philosophy and this came into my head.
