Slowly being pulled
Bit by bit
Revealing a little more
With every soft tug
Red
Every inch of the way
The hand that pulls
Soft and delicate
So gentle it is
Not wanting this to hurt
Working its way
To the end
Of the line
Where it will start on
The next one
Making sure to pull
The exact amount of
Red ribbon out of
The victims arm
Filling their jars
To save three lives

This poem is about giving blood at a blood drive and the anxiety of it all.
