Your flawless face looms before me
inches away, yet miles apart
A thousand unspoken words between us
Threatening the affection we worked so hard to build
Is this how love should feel
Like a house of cards, one mistake
and all is lost
Each smile too fixed, each laugh too forced
Precious memories slowly fading
Like those old blue jeans you wore too much
And the boy I knew, and grew to love
Has changed in ways I can't perceive
I am grateful for all that you have done
But time and fate have worn their course
So I am here to tell you
