I Love You
Would you believe it’s true if I said “I love you?”
If I told you that I’ve fallen like a fool?
These words I just can’t seem to find,
Are held, locked up, in my mind.
I just don’t know how to say
These things I feel every day.
They slide onto the tip of my tongue,
Stuck right in the back of my lungs,
But for some reason won’t come out.
I promise though, so please don’t doubt.
I want to see you every day,
Want to hear everything you say.
So when I don’t tell what I’m thinking,
Remember that I’m not just blinking.
I’m figuring out how to confess,
Although it’s mostly just a guess.
I need you to believe it’s true,
When I say that I love you.
