swinging...
You smiled at me.
I smiled back.
For a moment,
I felt the fragments
of my shattered heart
reattach.
Like a child
at the crest of a swing,
a glimmer of the love I once had for you,
reflects off rusted chains
that echo
with the laughter we once shared.
Then in a moment
it all comes crashing down.
The worn seat of the swing,
a sinister black wrecking ball
shattering my heart
again.
When i realize
you were smiling
at someone else.
