Infidelity
"Blue skies to forever,
green grass blows in the wind,
dancing"
Past the glass in harmony.
You sit on the couch
wrapped into yourself
with intense indulgence,
and ignore my every wish.
my every pleasure.
In frustration and anger,
I wish you torment
on your pursuit of empty
thought and actions.
The glass once clear
is now fogged
white from the cold, heartless rain.
The world outside slowly
begins to fade
all its rich, intricate colors.
Now black and white,
everything seems void of life.
Missing the
soul.
I place my eyes on you,
shaking,
breathing clouds of
ice,
hoping one day
color
could return to your
chilled,
chapped lips.
Wanting them to
whisper those
sweet words
that I constantly
crave.
The candle
on the table beside us
goes out,
and suddenly the only
hope
I had simply
dissipates
into a stream of smoke
in the frigid air.
Now I’m as cold as you,
almost lifeless.
Shaking and shivering
I watch my breath slowly
thicken.
Helpless, hopeless,
I turn around
and face the cushions,
with a feeling of infidelity
hanging between us,
so I ignore it.
With you.
