Lock and Key

Lost in the world
With no less than a ghost of a kiss on her cheek

Her heart is still locked on a chain around her neck
Only coming off at night

That’s when the true dreams come out
With out the pressures of numbers and eyes and other letters

No one found the key under her pillow or behind her blank smile
Maybe because no one thought to look there

But isn’t that where we keep things most precious?
Close to the touch and hidden from sight

Because wouldn’t you keep the key to your heart there?

There would be no other place…
