another sleepless night

darkness envelopes me
caresses me
soft and gentle
and it does not go away

silence surrounds me
keeping me company
eerie and still
and it does not go away

a cry cuts through the night

and it takes me a minute to realize
that it had broke from my lips
i stare at the celling through the darkness
i close my eyes and try to sleep

and still the ache in my heart does not go away
