The words from your mouth.
The look in your eyes and
Just now
I realize that I can’t have you.
The pain in my chest.
The tears in my eyes.
They make me realize that
It hurts.
The look of the one you love.
The face next to yours.
It pains me to see this love
Is not for me.
My one-sided love.
My misguided crush.
This pain is so sweet and
Yet it hurts.
Misplaced words of declaration.
I love you.
I love you.
So much it hurts.
But I give up.
To see you happy and
To see you smile.
But it hurts.
